why succulents keep dying
I didn’t create Succulent Joy because I’m a plant expert.
I created it because I kept killing them.
At first, it didn’t make sense. Succulents were supposed to be easy. Low maintenance. Beginner-friendly. That’s what everything said. So I bought a few, gave them light, watered them, and waited.
Then they started to fall apart.
Leaves turned soft. Some stretched out and looked strange. Others just stopped growing and slowly faded. Every time, I thought I was doing something wrong, or maybe I just wasn’t good with plants.
After a while, I realized something simple.
I wasn’t the problem. The advice was.
Most of it made succulents sound easier than they actually are. Or worse, it left out the parts that actually matter. Things like how long soil stays wet, how light really affects growth, or why the wrong pot can ruin everything without you noticing.
Once I fixed those basics, everything changed.
The plants didn’t just survive. They stayed compact. They looked healthier. They stopped feeling like a guessing game.
That’s where this site comes from.

Succulent Joy is for people who like the idea of plants but don’t want to overthink it. People who have lost a few along the way and don’t want to keep repeating the same mistakes.
It’s built around simple setups, clear explanations, and small changes that actually make a difference.
No complicated routines. No endless lists.
Let it be know, If your questioning why succulents keep dying in the past. It probably wasn’t you. It was more than likely the setup.
